Gene has 23 years of experience in building innovative technology solutions across various business domains, including healthcare, retail, on-line travel, and hospitality. At Lyric, Gene is responsible for the development of overall technology strategy as well as ensuring technologies are scaled and used efficiently and securely.

Before joining Lyric, Gene was CTO at Optum Digital, where he led engineers responsible for designing, building, scaling, supporting, and securing digital consumer healthcare products including flagship authentication, wellness, rewards, insurance portals across various lines of business, provider search transparency tooling, and digital therapeutics across UHG. Gene co-founded and held the role of CIO and COO at BayRu LLC, where he led the engineering the operations teams to build out the range of custom-built sales, supply chain, and other integrated systems.
